What: Scott Regional Firefighter Combat Challenge. Montgomery Fire/Rescue will host the 2017 Scott Regional Firefighter Combat Challenge this week in downtown Montgomery. The competition, now in its 26th year, promotes firefighter fitness and highlights the readiness and skills required of firefighters in meeting the demands of their jobs.
Who: More than 70 teams from throughout the Southeast will compete, including some 100 Montgomery firefighters. Also on tap is a cooking competition in which MF/R teams vie for bragging rights and the department’s “Top Chef” award.
