Ponder this quote for a moment. Its message is simple, yet profound and speaks volumes.
See, each person comes into this world with a specific prepared destination in life. Each one of us was born with something to fulfill, some message to be delivered, some work to be completed.
Did you know that our destinies are impacted by our choices. What we do at the major crossroads of life not only reveals who we are, but also dictates the kind of person we will become. Every person has choices to make, every person has the ability to make choices, and every choice made has a consequence.
Did you know that the choices we make can propel us forward or take us back in life. It is reflected that every man is faced with decisions that determine his future and his destiny.
One of my favorite movies is the Adjustment Bureau with Matt Damon. The movie is a thoughtful and character driven piece about the choices one makes and the ripple effects of those decisions. I believe that it must be understood that our actions, do indeed, have ripple effects beyond what we can control.
Today I had an objective lesson in making a choice, it was a small decision to make about telling a lie to save $4.00, simple right? Most of us would have done it, but the ripple effect from that decision would have negative consequences in our lives.
Did you know that its the small foxes that destroy the vine (Song of Solomon 2:15). Gods will is not automatic. He allows us to make choices. Many of the things that happen to you are not Gods perfect will. We all have to choose between Gods will and our will. We often choose our will.
Why is this important to me? Our small choices can make very detrimental destiny altering effects. There are consequences to every risk you take and the decisions from every choice you make.
Example: Saul made a small decision to save some sheep to do a good thing as sacrifice, but God had ordered them to be destroyed. That small choice lost him his kingship, kingdom, and his position in God. (1 Samuel 15:1-31)
What is the benefit to me? I believe that most people dont intentionally decide to miss their destinies; they just get did not have the proper understanding that life is the result of choices. Others may be able to influence or hinder you, but ultimately your choices are the determining factor of your destiny. Therefore remember that it is never too late to make the right choices.
