HUNTSVILLE, AL (Oct. 13, 2017) – Earlier this week, the Association of University Research Parks (AURP) hosted its 2017 International Conference in Huntsville.  It recognized Cummings Research Park (CRP) with the Developing Communities of Innovation Award.

“With a long history of innovation and research, CRP has become known for both its economic and cultural impacts on the local and regional communities through the integration of mixed-use spaces with research and other work environments,” AURP noted.

Erin Koshut is the Director of Cummings Research Park and worked to secure this year’s conference through collaboration with many groups, including the City of Huntsville the Huntsville/Madison County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and our local sponsors including UAH.

“My research park colleagues from around the globe were so impressed with our city, our Southern hospitality, and places and spaces,” said Koshut. “The AURP organization enjoyed working with the Huntsville team and were extremely pleased with how the event turned out and the overwhelmingly positive feedback they received.”

The conference attracted leaders from research parks across the United States and 10 countries.
