KEEPING YOUR HEAD ABOVE THE WATERS

While sitting on a park bench, one beautiful Spring day, my eyes glanced toward the waters beneath. There was this little turtle, not large at all, I noticed he would swim a little and then lift his tiny head, swim a little, then lift his head. The Psalmist David, said,”I will look up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help, my help cometh from the Lord, which made the heavens and the earth.” Psalm 121:1

” When thou passes through the waters, I will be with thee and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee, and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee, when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee”. Isaiah 43:2 – AN AWESOME PROMISE

Defining the word WHEN implies: “At what time; or what occasion, at the time that , on the occasion that, whenever. This lets us know that its INEVITABLE: Not able to be prevented, sure to happen or appear”.

Sometimes, it might seems as thou you’re about to drown or be burned . I want to remind you, that we do have the reassurance of God’s Word. In the book of Daniel, we find this verse of Scripture, “And the king spoke unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king’s seed and of the princes, “Children in whom was no blemish, but well favored, and skillful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans”. Danial 1:2

Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. They found themselves in a foreign land, where they had been captured and transported from their homeland. Their new overseers changed their names: Daniel the name of Belteschazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach and to Azariah of Abednego.

The Bible says, that these young men separated themselves from their surroundings of sin and unbelief. God bestowed upon them blessings and supernatural deliverance for their faithfulness and obedience. “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine of the eunuchs, that he might not defile himself”. Daniel 1:8

They would soon find themselves thrown in a burning firer furnace, because they refused to bow down and worship the king’s idol. “Now if ye be ready that at what time you hear the sound of the cornet, chimer, and all kinds of music, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands? Daniel 3:15

Their reply: “If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O King”. Daniel 3:17

Remember the Little Turtle, he swam a little and rested a little, but was able to keep his Head Above the Waters. Daniel and his three friends they prayed a little and fasted, They Did Not Bow AND They DID NOT Burn………..
