Mia Jacobs-Turner announces run for Perry County Circuit Clerk

Marion, AL- Mia Jacobs-Turner is pleased to be a candidate for the office of Circuit Clerk of Perry County, Alabama.  She was born and raised in north Alabama by parents who were educators.  She graduated with honors from Litchfield High School.  

Following high school, Mia graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Court Reporting from Gadsden State Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Samford University.  

Mia has been employed with the State of Alabama as an Official Court Reporter in the Fourth Judicial Circuit for 17 years.  Prior to this, she worked as a freelance reporter and in the legal industry in Birmingham, Alabama.  Mia was the first African-American to work with Southern Court Reporting, a freelance court reporting agency.

Mrs. Turner is the Editor and Legislative Chairperson for Jack and Jill of America, Inc. – Tuscaloosa Chapter and is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.  She currently attends Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Marion, Alabama.   She is married to Attorney Robert H. Turner, Jr., and they have two children, Nia and Robert Julian.

Mia humbly embraces this opportunity to serve all the citizens of Perry County with poise, professionalism, and passion.  She wants to focus on continuing the strong legacy of service that this office has been graced with and move boldly into the future focusing on promoting jury service and the exercise of the right to vote by all.
