The Grandma Home House Retreat held the 2015 Foster Care Month Expo on Saturday, May 24 in Pike Rd., AL. This inaugural event celebrated May as being National Foster Care Month.

This event was free and open to the public. Families who attended had the opportunity to network with vendors and receive valuable information about foster care, adoption, children with special needs, and other human services. The youth engaged in basketball, bike riding, games, carnival style concessions, and other activities.

“This event is to raise awareness about National Foster Care Month” shared Felicia Strowder, coordinator of the Foster Care Expo. “We want to celebrate those who foster children in great homes.”

This event was sponsored by Al-Hajj, Inc. and Seraaj Family Homes, Inc., two of the nation’s leaders in therapeutic foster care.

The Grandma Home House Retreat is located on 386 Campbell Road, Pike Road, AL. Some of the services they offer include school field trips, corporate retreats, religious retreats, weddings, bridal showers, trainings and workshops, and business expositions.
