Montgomery, AL — The Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ACADV) Board of Directors announces a leadership transition as the organization moves forward with renewed focus and commitment to its mission.
Effective immediately, Jawandalyn Brooks is no longer serving as Executive Director of ACADV. The Board has appointed Dr. Wendy Mahoney as the Interim Executive Director, effective July 1, 2025.
Dr. Mahoney brings decades of experience in nonprofit leadership, advocacy, and organizational development. She was already assisting the coalition as a consultant, providing insight and strategic guidance to help strengthen operations and improve service delivery. Her transition into this interim role ensures continuity, stability, and a continued focus on ACADV’s mission.
“Our mission has always been to serve survivors and support the programs that serve them,” said Pamela Rogers, President of the ACADV Board of Directors. “With Dr. Mahoney’s leadership, we are confident ACADV will continue to rebuild trust, improve communication, and strengthen our network of domestic violence service providers across Alabama.”
Dr. Mahoney will work closely with the Board, staff, and coalition partners to ensure continuity of services, compliance with funding requirements, and alignment with best practices in the field.
The Board expresses its appreciation to ACADV’s dedicated staff, member programs, and community stakeholders for their continued support and commitment to survivors of domestic violence during this time of transition.
