DESCRIPTION:Hyundai Motor America and Children’s Hospital of Alabama will host a free car seat safety check event at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama in Montgomery\, Alabama. \nDuring the event\, nationally certified child passenger safety technicians (CPST) will inspect car seats for expiration\, manufacturer recalls\, and/or proper fit of the seat for children. An estimated 46 percent of car seats and booster seats are installed incorrectly or improperly used\, according to NHTSA’s study. \nThe event will take place on Saturday\, July 30\, 2022\, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 800-504-9768. The event is free and open to members of the public. \nIn addition to the car seat safety checks\, Hyundai will be making a donation to Children’s Hospital of Alabama as part of Hyundai’s corporate social responsibility initiative\, Hyundai Hope.

DESCRIPTION:The Convocation will be on campus and is planned for 11 a.m.\, in the Jemison–Owens Auditorium at 1501 Boynton Street\, where Dr. Boise Kimber will be our guest speaker. Dr. Kimber is the Executive Secretary\, Board of Directors of the National Baptist Convention\, USA\, Inc.  \nFollowing the Convocation\, our celebration will continue with a Founders‘ Day Banquet\, 1 p.m.\, at the George P. Evans Reception Center\, 912 Selma Ave\, Selma\, AL 36701. During the banquet\, the University will recognize the noteworthy contributions of several supporters and alumni.  \nTickets for the banquet may be purchased by completing the enclosed order form and sending it along with a check or money order to Selma University at 1501 Boynton Street\, Selma\, AL\, 36701. DESCRIPTION:Cleveland Browns linebacker\, Mack Wilson Sr.\, is joining forces with Detroit Lions linebacker and former Alabama teammate\, Shaun Dion Hamilton and the Make a Difference Foundation to host the Inaugural Mack Wilson Celebrity Softball Game at the Montgomery Biscuits stadium on Saturday\, April 9th.  \nSeveral of Wilson Sr.’s teammates and a host of current and former NFL players will be in attendance such as A.J. Green\, Jarvis Landry\, Jacob Phillips and Jadeveon Clowney of the Cleveland Browns.  \nThe Inaugural Mack Wilson Celebrity Softball Game will benefit Make A Difference and KultureCity through a partnership with A.B.C. Sports Foundation\, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization providing charitable resources to athletes through community outreach initiatives based in Nashville\, Tennessee.  \nGeneral admission tickets are $15 and can be purchased online via the Montgomery Biscuits website.
