Freddie Smith aka “D-N-Credible DJ Freddie Fred” was born in Union Springs, AL on May 25, 1964. Freddie had a love for music at a young age and later in his life, found his niche and began learning and honing his craft. Mr. Smith was inducted into the National Black Radio Hall of Fame in 2021.

Smith’s musical career started in the 1980’s when he became a Disc Jockey. His roommate in the Army was a DJ from Jamaica Queens, NY who took Freddie under his wings and began teaching him the art of mixing and the rest, as they say, is history.

Smith has become an inspiration and mentor to so many and even more than that, a true friend. For me personally, I have learned a lot not only about making my shows and stations better but, also witnessing what a true Christian looks like. Smith has a beautiful spirit that he graciously shares with others. Although he has faced some personal challenges, he does not let that stop him from continuing his legacy of music and entertainment, he keeps pushing because of his strength and strong faith.

Smith’s history and experience in radio and music is extensive and he continues to grow a brand around it all, including most recently, On Fye Productions, his most recent company, adding to an already fantastic brand. On Fye Productions consists of apparel, music production, public speaking and so much more. Keep your eyes and ears open for much more about this newest venture. Smith’s vision to build a legacy and inspire others, has for me, truly been an inspiration, he doesn’t stop and that is a lesson we all can take from this versatile man.

Smith is more than a DJ, he’s a son, a brother, a father, a friend, businessman and mentor. He is a human being which means like the rest of us, he has had his share of life’s difficulties but, he uses it to thrive and push forward and inspires others to do the same. I believe his strong beliefs and faith have a lot to do with who Mr. Freddie Smith is.

Smith’s accomplishments and partnerships are evident as you will see as you read on, and yet with all of these tremendous accolades, Smith remains humble and kind, that is what I love about him. The state of Alabama can be darn proud of him, not only because he an 2021 National Black Radio Hall of Fame Inductee or that he is a hometown favorite amongst his peers or that he can spin records like nobody’s business (along with his partner JT “DJ Grandmaster” Graham) but because he the true definition of a man. Montgomery, celebrate this gifted man of music.

Smith is not only a DJ but also a poet and music producer. In 1994, he formed an independent record label, “Flame Entertainment”, along with long-time friend, Reginald Brooks. Freddie is currently in partnership with JT “DJ Grandmaster” Graham with their company, 365 JAMZ Entertainment, which provides the best in professional DJ services from wedding receptions to community events.

Smith also owns 365 Jamz Radio Network (365 Jamz Radio, 365 Smooth Jazz Lounge and 1 Gospel Radio). To add to that, he also has two (2) syndicated radio shows, “The Backyard Party Mix Show” and Freddie’s Lounge, that can be heard on over 30 radio stations worldwide!

Smith has turned his love & passion for music into a successful career and building a brand centered around the drive and determination in playing and creating music that is made for everyone, in every age group.
