A Montgomery-based leader with more than 15 years of experience in downtown revitalization, economic development, and placemaking, Jernigan will lead the organization’s efforts to strengthen and activate the downtown district.
As Executive Director, Jernigan will be responsible for implementing the Main Street approach—focusing on economic vitality, promotion, design, and organization—while working collaboratively with business owners, property owners, residents, and community partners to drive growth within the district.
“Ashley brings the experience, vision, and relationships needed to move Main Street Montgomery forward at a critical time for our downtown,” said LaConya Murray, Board Chair of Main Street Montgomery. “Her ability to connect stakeholders, activate spaces, and deliver results positions our organization for long-term success and meaningful impact.”

Her work in Montgomery includes innovative activation strategies such as pop-up retail experiences, cultural programming, and destination-driven events that have contributed to increased foot traffic and economic activity downtown.
“I am honored to serve as the Executive Director of Main Street Montgomery at such an important moment for our city,” said Ashley Jernigan, Main Street Montgomery’s inaugural Executive Director. “Main Street has the opportunity to bring people together to turn that vision into visible, lasting impact. I look forward to working alongside our businesses, residents, and partners to create a downtown that is vibrant, inclusive, and thriving.”
