Montgomery, AL – The Montgomery Housing Authority (MHA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Damon E. Duncan announced last month that veteran law enforcement public servant Jesse Day will be its new Director of Public Safety. In this role, Mr. Day will manage strategies, programs and initiatives to ensure the safety, security and overall quality of life for MHA families. In addition, Day will work closely with other MHA departments to implement public safety strategies to benefit the Agency internally.
Day is a retired police officer from Miami Florida. Prior to his retirement and coming to MHA, he served 23 years with the Orlando Police Department. He also had a distinguished career in the U.S. Army for more than 20 years.
“Jesse Day brings to MHA more than 40 years of public safety and law enforcement experience having served in both the U.S. Armed services as well as the police department in Florida,” said MHA CEO Damon Duncan. “He will provide much needed intervention and prevention strategies for the agency’s public safety component. We are excited to welcome his experience and perspective as part of the MHA Executive team.”
An avid musician, Day relocated from Florida to Alabama for what he indicates is, “the perfect job for me.” Of his new work family, he says “the people are all so friendly and willing to help.”
