Senator Jeff Session (R- AL) spoke at the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce “Eggs and Issues” breakfast on July 1. The roomed was filled with the River Region’s top political leaders, community leaders, and movers and shakers. There was not an empty seat.
The National Defense Budget was first on the agenda. Sen. Jeff Sessions was happy about the National Defense Budget. He expressed how the budget would help establish a cyber training program. “Entire military systems are at risk” said the Senator, “Missile systems, nuclear weapon systems, and satellite systems are endangered by cyber attacks.”
Sen. Jeff Sessions also shared his thoughts concerning the Supreme Court’s recent rulings on marriage equality and the Obamacare.
“Marriage should be left to the states” Sen. Jeff Sessions said as he explained how marriage laws like common law marriage vary from state to state. “Marriage has always been a state issue.”
The Senator also does not agree with Obamacare. He said that this particular Supreme Court ruling is an example of statutory misconstruction.
As far as Russia is concerned, Sen. Jeff Sessions feels that our European allies have to show some strength.
