The Montgomery County Probate Court Promotes Latoya Calhoun Barker

MONTGOMERY, AL– Montgomery County Probate Judge J C Love, III, on Wednesday announced the promotion of LaToya Calhoun Barker to Chief Clerk.  She will have primary oversight of the probate court’s day-to-day operations. Barker is the first woman to hold this position. 

“I am pleased with the leadership, fresh ideas, and different approach that LaToya has brought to the Probate Court and I believe that she is the right person to assist me with continuing to move this office forward,” Judge Love said.   

Mrs. Barker joined the probate court in May 2021 as Assistant Chief Clerk.  She previously worked as a Revenue Compliance Officer for the Alabama Department of Revenue. 

Mrs. Barker attended Montgomery Public Schools, graduating from Jefferson Davis High School.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Troy State University and a Master of Public Administration from Purdue University Global. 

Mrs. Barker is married to Brandon Barker, an Engineer Distribution Manager with Alabama Power.  She has two children: a daughter named Guillana Skye and a son, Braylon.
