Recently, while being in a Department Store, waiting in line to pay for my items in my hand, I noticed this young child and his grandmother, I perceived her to be. He said to her, “You Excused” in such an adult manner, I began to laugh out. Before, they exited the store, he turned and said out, “AND I AINT SCREAD”. I said to the store clerk who was waiting on me, “These little children are something else” (meaning their smartness). His grandmother, just laughed as they exited the store. Looking in the Book of Proverbs, we find Agur’s Proverbs of Leadership:
“THERE IS A GENERATION THAT CURSETH THEIR FATHER, AND DOTH NOT BLESS THEIR MOTHER: Proverbs 30:11
“THERE IS A GENERATION THAT ARE PURE IN THEIR OWN EYES, AND YET IS NOT WASHED FROM THEIR FILTHINESS: Proverbs 30:12
“THERE IS A GENERATION, O HOW LOFTY ARE THEIR EYES! AND THEIR EYELIDS ARE LIFTED UP: Proverbs 30:13
“THERE IS A GENERATION , WHOSE TEETH ARE AS SWORDS, AND THEIR JAW TEETH AS KNIVES, TO DEVOUR THE POOR FROM OFF THE EARTH, AND THE NEEDY FROM AMONG MEN: Proverbs 30:14
As we watch the evening news, go on line, Facebook, or Twitter, we see a growing number of violent activities among our youth, they are tired of injustice, they want change. Some think the way to obtain it, is to burn down the neighborhood store and overturn police cars . This is very disturbing to see, because after all the burning and overturning of property, you still have not CONQUERED THE BATTLE.
Yes, there is a Generation in our society who do not Fear nor Respect any kind of Authority, a better word to use RESPECT. The little boy in the department store, was talking to me, “And I Ain’t Scared”. Even though I was laughing at the way he said it, my mind went immediately on what I had been seeing on the evening news. Young men and women, throwing rocks, bottles, setting cars on fire to city property and carrying arm fulls of food and anything else they could get their hands on. I’m not applying that the little boy, would do something like this, but his young mind concerns me. Somebody, got it twisted, lawlessness does not bring about CHANGE AND STRUCTURAL JUSTICE.
