Registration now open for 2016 Capital City Christmas & Camellia Parades

MONTGOMERY – The City of Montgomery is now accepting float submissions for the 2016 Capital City Christmas Parade, scheduled for December 16 at 6:15 p.m. The parade will once again include the teams, fans and marching bands visiting Montgomery for the ESPN Raycom Media Camellia Bowl.

“Each year, we rely on the creativity, innovation and all-out enthusiasm of Montgomery’s residents who truly make this holiday tradition a spectacular event,” Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange said. “And with each passing year, our floats just get better and better. We’re hopeful to have an even bigger crowd and more floats this year for the River Region’s new annual tradition combining the holiday spirit with big-time college football!”

All float entries must be submitted by December 7, 2016 accompanied by a $25 nonrefundable registration fee. Entries are divided into three categories: business, adult and children/youth, which allows all ages a chance to participate. One entry from each category will win monetary prizes sponsored by Sam’s Club.

The parade will begin at 6:15 p.m. at the steps of the state capitol and will end at Court Square Fountain. Participants can stage their floats prior to the event at the Cramton Bowl.
