On Friday, Feb. 14, Bellingrath Middle School’s Positive Behavior Support (PBS) Program held its ROCK Kindness Week Respect Rally at 1:15 p.m. The event included a motivational speech by Alabama State University President Dr. Gwendolyn Boyd, a special appearance by the Jeff Davis High Pep Band, and a performance by the Bellingrath Middle School choir, who sang the school’s new PBS Song written by school behavior interventionist Denise Whittle. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity also spoke encouraging words to the students. The activity was part of ROCK Kindness Week. Students at Bellingrath were engaged in activities all week long that promoted respect for themselves and others.

Dr. Boyd encouraged students to respect themselves. “You need to know what is right and what is wrong and that you have great potential. Believe in yourself first” said Boyd as she shared her story of success.

The Principlal of Bellingrath Middle is Ibrahim Lee. For more information about PBS visit www.pbis.org.
