Montgomery, AL- March is National Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Awareness Month. Colorectal Cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. when men and women are combined, but it does not have to be. When adults get screened for colorectal cancer, it can be detected early when treatment is most likely to be successful, and in many cases, it can be prevented altogether.

March 1, 2019 is Go Blue Day! The RSA Tower in Downtown Montgomery will be turning their lights blue to begin CRC Awareness Month. The community is asked to join the American Cancer Society in Go Blue Day to highlight the importance or Colorectal Cancer Screening.

The American Cancer Society believes that Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month is a great opportunity to spread key messages to educate more people across Alabama about colorectal cancer, the importance of screening, and acting on symptoms.
