Central Alabama Health Initiative Kick Off

The City of Montgomery and partner organizations will host a kick-off party for the Central Alabama Neighborhood Health Initiative, a new campaign to improve health literacy and outcomes in central Alabama. This partnership was made possible through the City of Montgomery’s receipt of a $3.9 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services – Office of Minority Health.

What: Central Alabama Neighborhood Health Initiative’s Montgomery Kick-Off Party.

When: July 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  

Where: Tuskegee University Urban Agriculture Innovation Center, 595 Grady Street, Montgomery, AL 36108.

This family-friendly event will offer activities for all ages to enjoy, including FREE food from local food trucks, music and plenty of other vendors. Programming will also include:

• Opportunities to donate to the LifeSouth Bloodmobile;
• COVID-19 testing;
• Licensed medical professionals onsite;
• Library card registration;
• Tours the Agriculture Innovation Center;
• Cooking demonstrations;
• Exercise demonstrations and yoga;
• Educational segments from local healthcare organizations;
