Youth Reenactment March and Prayer Vigil

May 6, 2023 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

The Christian Debutants and Masters Commission of the 9 th Episcopal District of
the African Methodist Episcopal Church with The Rosa Parks Museum is holding
a Youth Reenactment of the 1965 Civil and Voting Rights March on the grounds of
The City of St. Jude Parish (2048 W. Fairview Ave., Montgomery, AL) on
Saturday, May 6 th at 11:00 a.m.

Our Reenactment March is designed to educate our Youth about history of the
Voting Civil and Voting Rights March and to salute the many leaders who have
given up their lives for equality and justice in our state and the world. Some of our
Civil and Voting Rights Icons will present and speak at this event.
During this historical event, the Youth and Commissioners will hold a very special
Candlelight Prayer Vigil for our Youth who lost their lives or who were injured due
to Gun Violence here in Alabama (cities in Birmingham, Dadeville, and
Montgomery), our neighboring states, and throughout the world. We will be
praying for peace, love, forgiveness, and non-violence and encouraging our Youth
and everyone to “Stop The Violence” throughout our world.
Attendees will have the opportunity to visit the City of St. Jude Church Parish
Interpretive Center, see our Youth showcase their talen, and view original artwork
designed by our very own CDMC Youth and Community Artists.
If possible, I would love to stop by to further discuss this program with you and
your viewers as we introduce and showcase the talents of our Youth and work
together to help “Stop The Violence”.

For more information, please contact Rev. Dr. Cathey Bruce, Events Coordinator,
and Education Commissioner at (334)-590-9265. Mrs. S. Whiting, CDMC
