Montgomery, AL– Soon, Montgomery will add a unique form of entertainment to its local event scene. G’s Rage Room, a family owned and operated business, is set to open this fall. The establishment will offer a safe and fun place for people to smash dishes, TVs, household appliances or other objects as a form of stress release or pure pleasure.

“After working in the Montgomery Public School System and interacting with so many students, including my daughter, who were dealing with frustration and depression, as well as adults struggling and coping with life and pressure to perform at work without positive outlets, I was inspired to do something,” says Tynomie P. Gordon, Owner and Chief Rage Officer.  “I envisioned myself creating a space for people to express frustration and release themselves. This seemed like the perfect fit.”

Gordon is joined in the business with her husband Leighton, who retired from the U.S. Army and Airforce after serving 24 years. Through the Wounded Warriors Project he was able to work through some of his own PTSD and anxiety. The couple believes their business was birthed out of God’s plan to be a blessing in the lives of others who need to be encouraged and empowered as well as reminded that they are not alone.

G’s rage room will provide a healthy release of energy both mentally and physically. Tynomie Gordon, who has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Troy University, intends to partner with mental health professionals as well as provide programs for people who may need additional support or counseling.

“I am extremely excited to be able to give back to the community,” says Gordon “and provide a space where teens and adults can come, have a great time, and know that it’s okay to not be okay all the time. I’m looking forward to our success stories and making strides to ensure that we are accessible to anyone in need of these amazing services.”

The Gordons, who’ve been married 21 years, have four beautiful children and one amazing granddaughter. “Family is so very important to us,” says Tynomie Gordon, “and healthy mental relationships have been the key to our success.
