Serving the Servers: Kenya Morris Brings Wellness to Hospitality Through Dining1on1

After more than 30 years in the hospitality industry, Kenya Morris is turning her experience into a mission to support the people who spend their lives serving others.

As the Founder and Lead Strategist of Dining1on1 Hospitality Leadership Wellness, Morris is focused on helping hospitality professionals prioritize wellness, leadership development, and healthy workplace cultures. Her inspiration stems from two powerful influences: her father’s ministry and her own decades of experience in the restaurant industry.

“My father taught me that ministry was not confined to the pulpit,” Morris said. “It happened in conversations, kindness, and making people feel seen and valued.”

She explained that Dining1on1 was born from the intersection of those two worlds—her father’s heart for people and her passion for hospitality.

Throughout her career, Morris witnessed firsthand the demands placed on hospitality workers. From long hours and emotional exhaustion to the pressure of maintaining excellent customer service, she understands the challenges many employees face behind the scenes.

“Hospitality workers carry the weight of other people’s experiences every single day,” Morris said. “The mental and emotional toll is real.”

This understanding led to the organization’s guiding belief: “Unserved people cannot serve well.” Morris believes that when businesses invest in the well-being of their employees, those employees are better equipped to provide.
