Small town serving families at Drive Thru Community Fest

(Mosses, AL 7/30/2020)- The Town of Mosses hosted a Drive Thru Community Fest last Saturday at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church #2. Over 50 families came out to drive thru the church parking lot to get free masks, free resources, free hot dogs and hamburgers, and other giveaways.

The community also got to meet new Police Chief Demarcus Weems.

“I am excited about this event and excited about serving the citizens of Mosses.” Weems said. “This is the first of many events to come.

The food was prepared and served by Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. cooked and served the food. Music was provided by DJ Grandmaster 365 Jamz.

Sponsors for the event include The Serious Injury Law Group, LLC, Workable Solutions, Council on Substance Abuse-NCADD, T.E.E.N. Direct, First Place Financial Group, Sheyann Webb Christburg, Keeping it Real with Ro Tyus, and Gumptown Magazine.

Partners for the event were Mayor Willie. B. Hill, Rep. Kelvin J Lawrence, Coroner Terrell Means, Lowndes County Counts, Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, Judge Adrian Johnson, Pastor Tarrance L. Scott, and Prattville Police Department.

Other participants were Jackson Professional Funeral Services, and Lowndes County Board of Education Head Start Program.

The event was held from 11AM-2PM.
