Montgomery, AL- The historic Tuskegee-Morehouse Classic, the oldest HBCU football rivalry dating back to the early 1900s, will take place at the iconic Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Alabama, in October 2025. Previously held in Columbus, Georgia, this move to Alabama’s Capital City marks a new chapter for the celebrated rivalry between Morehouse College and Tuskegee University, promising an unforgettable weekend of football, culture, and community.
The relocation to Montgomery underscores the city’s rich civil rights history and vibrant HBCU alumni presence, making it a fitting stage for this storied tradition. Fans, alumni, students, and community members can look forward to a dynamic weekend.
Harold Ellis, Athletic Director at Morehouse College, says that he is thrilled to share that the Morehouse/Tuskegee Classic will continue in Montgomery.
“We are proud to partner with my Morehouse brother, Mayor Steven Reed, to uphold the legacy of this historic rivalry, which dates back to the early 1900s—making it the oldest HBCU football rivalry. Montgomery holds a special place in our hearts. We have a strong and passionate Alumni Association in the area, and I have no doubt they will show up and show out for this Classic!”
Reginald Ruffin, Athletic Director at Tuskegee University is also excited about the historic rivalry game in Montgomery.
