On Monday February 17, the Black Alliance for Educational Options (BAEO) hosted a free Marvin Sapp concert at the New Life Church of God in Christ. This event was an exciting evening full of energy and song. There was a short portion of the night in which Marvin Sapp talked about School Choice and the importance of families having choice with where their children attend school.

The event also included performances by Marvin’s brother, gospel comedian Hen Sapp and Sunday’s Best Winner Latice Crawford.

The mission of BAEO is to increase access to high quality education options for Black children by actively supporting transformational education reform initiatives and parental choice policies that empower low-income and working class Black families. “We make sure that we have the right environment to get the Black community engaged in conversation about education” said Kenneth Campbell, President of BAEO. “As adults, we can no longer tolerate the results that some of our children have in school”.

BAEO has been serving communities across the South for 14 years. BAEO works in communities Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Tennessee. BAEO also serves Philadelphia, PA and Milwaukee, WI. For more information visit www.baeo.org or text “CHOICE” to 52886.
