PR professionals from various industries came together to enhance their PR skills and “put their PR pedal to the metal.”

Prestigious keynote speakers and panelists covered important topics relevant to the world of Public Relations, such as the future of PR, helpful tips and apps, advice for tv interviewing, and crisis management.

The keynote speakers included: Dr. Simone Byrd, Associate Professor of Public Relations at ASU; Dr. Brigitta Brunner, Professor in the School of Communications and Journalism at Auburn University; Kimberly Wright, Webmaster for the City of Montgomery; Ashley Jernigan, owner of JDB Hospitality, LLC; Tina McManama, owner of MacZas, LLC; Michael Briddell, Director of Public Information and External Affairs for the City of Montgomery; and Phillip Rawls, a retired AP Reporter and Lecturer at Auburn University.

The workshop ended with a recollection of the information learned led by Adam Muhlendorf, President of Longleaf Strategies.

Dr. Simone Byrd commented on the outcome of the PR Professional Development Workshop. “I want to take this information back to my students to better prepare them for the workforce. I also want to continue bridging the gap between PR educators and professionals.”
