Community garden promotes healthy living in Newtown Community

Montgomery, AL- The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for David’s Community Garden was last week. The garden is in the Newtown Community!

The garden is presented by Help A Brother Out Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the local community through food assistance, community gardening.

Help A Brother Out Foundation hosts regular mobile food pantry giveaways to distribute fresh food to those in need. The foundation also offers educational programs and workshops to teach the community about gardening.

All produce from the farm will be free to the community.

Green Sky Family Farms presented a check for $500 to aid with the costs of operating the garden.

Founded by Sam Yu, Help A Brother Out Foundation also honors the memory of Sam’s brother David, who was tragically killed at the age of 23.

Sam and his daughter Zuri, also known as Zizi, started Zizi’s Bee Company. Their mission is to promote and sustain healthy honeybee populations through responsible beekeeping practices and education in Montgomery.

Zizi’s Bee Company works in partnership with Help A Brother Out Foundation.
