(Montgomery, AL) — H. Councill Trenholm State Community College will hold its
Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 10, 2019, at 6:00 p.m., at Frazer United Methodist Church in Wesley Hall. Dr. Porcia Bradford Love, a Board-Certified Dermatologist and founder of River Region Dermatology and Laser, will deliver the commencement address.
Dr. Love is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the Skin of Color Society, and the Women’s Dermatologic Society. She also serves on the University of Alabama’s Community Affairs Board of Advisors, the Leadership Advisory Board of the American Cancer Society, Leadership Montgomery, and Medical Outreach Ministries.
She has authored several peer-reviewed journal articles in dermatology and is the co-editor of the Springer textbook for Dermatologists, Clinical Cases in Skin of Color. Dr. Love is a frequent contributor in the Montgomery Advertiser and for WSFA on various skin topics.
Dr. Love, a Montgomery native, attended the University of Alabama, where she graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Biology. She received her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine. Dr. Love completed an internship in General Surgery at Vanderbilt Medical Center and her Dermatology residency at Duke University Hospital.
“We are excited to have Dr. Love give our graduates inspiring advice as they embark upon a new journey,” says Trenholm State President Sam Munnerlyn. Trenholm State offers 26 programs of study and has a tradition of providing affordable quality educational opportunities to all students.
