City of Uniontown Police Chief Resigns

    Uniontown, AL- DeMarcus Weems resigned as the Police Chief for the City of Uniontown on June 15, 2022.

    “I have found a better and greater opportunity to expand my career both professionally and personally” Weems said. “I appreciate the citizens of Uniontown for all of their support.”

    Weems was sworn in as Uniontown’s Chief of Police in August of last year. As Chief, Weems hosted the city’s first National Night Out in history.

    Prior to working in Uniontown, Weems served as Police Chief for the Town of Mosses in Lowndes County. While there, Weems hosted several community events to include Lowndes County Connection Day, The Town of Mosses Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, and The Town of Mosses Inaugural Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway.

    Weems has almost 10 years of experience in law enforcement.
